Photorealist painter Richard Estes has a lot of images made from his working from his own photos; I'm esp. enamored of much of his city-scapes work. Recently I saw a local painter's work of similar imagery and in sharing my interest, the painter expressed interest in perhaps working from some photo(s) of mine --which I find encouraging.
So, I'm curious about what I might be stepping into, rights-wise, in sharing photos for the painter to work from
--which could be more as points of departure for a revised image, to more nearly being the output/printer to my digital file (i.e., going w/my composition). Of course, there could be some lawyer-drafted (or the like) contract for the painter's use. In the absence of that, but allowing express sharing (not the painter taking from, e.g., on-line image), ... ? (I am not professional at this point, but could see wanting to print & sell stuff in future.)
Thanks,
-d.
