It works ok for my eyes there Bob! Allows for sort of a softer-looking portrait.

Thanks Douglas,

Interesting how folks, mags and writers, used all grab their loupes and grain magnifiers to obsess over how to push Tri-X and use Accufine and Microdol-X to reduce grain, where now we can produce essentially smooth, sterile BW imagery and some, myself included, are interested in replicating that which we sought to remove.

I believe you answered my proposed comment in your answer to Douglas. Grain, smooth, soft....
Great analysis! So I won't bother to add my $.02 comments. I will comment that if people have to use loupes, magnifying glasses to analyze images then I guess what pleases me will certainly be "round file" recycle to them.

Loupe and grain focus device- analog version of pixel-peeping.

Must admit this is confounded by some residual ISO3200 noise which should have been removed prior. Oh well...
