I was using a Sigma 150-600 on a 7D2, so objects appear closer...
I sat out in the marsh pre-dawn and he came out from his bedding area a couple of hours later.
When he emerged from the thick brush, he made quite a racket with those big paddles, then gave out a couple of very deep grunts to challenge nearby bulls. It was a little nerve racking but something to see!
He then proceeded to nibble his way along the edge of the water right over to where I was standing. Moose in Algonquin park are very habituated to human presence. He didn't mind me being there at all (thank god!).
