It's more about the smooth tonal gradation between the prints (i'm talking about 20" +) more than increased resolution.

I went from the Nikon 810 to the Pentax, and then changed for the A7RII because of size. Although I appreciate the size of the Sony, I do miss the large prints of the Pentax. Ergonomically, the Sony doesn't bother me as much as some people, but then again I am always on a tripod and using manual lenses.

I have another system for other work/travel.

For me, other than nice blue skies which I detest, I see very little smooth tonal gradation in any of my landscape images. Do you have examples with landscape where this matters?

How are your large prints between your A7RII vs your 645z?

No idea...never used a 645z. Since you have, I'm wondering what type of landscape image will benefit from the 645z compared to the A7R2. You mentioned better tonal gradation with the 645z which to me really doesn't come into play with landscape images. What other benefits did you see with the 645z for landscapes?

Right now I am using an A7R and printing large ( 30x40 and up ) and am quite happy with the prints. What in the 645z would make me better prints?

well you are the one who claims the Pentax kicks Sony's butt. Such a claim surely comes with some examples of where this occurs for landscape photos. Surely, since you have used both for landscape you can come up with an example...surely?

If not...that is fine and I'll take your observation with the grain of salt it deserves.

The sensor is not that big on this camera.

Have a hard look at this.
I'm not sure it's worth it.

Well, if the increase in sensor size from APS-C to FF is worthwhile, then it's worth considering that this is a larger increase in sensor size (i.e. area). The area of a 44mm x 33mm sensor is almost as big as a FF sensor plus two APS-C sensors (i.e. FF + 1.7 (APS-C) sensors). Whether it's worth the cost is a different matter.

I don't know. I did reboot a NAS but that wouldn't affect any of the computers attached to it.
