This was probably the most time we got to see Maya, but true to her form, she would not make eye contact. In her defense she was frantically looking for her cubs and hence the strain and stress...Also the light was not optimum

It is always special to see a tiger or a tigress. This one seems focused on something else (her cubs as you point out), is not bothered by humans in a jeep and looks very lovely. Thank you for sharing!

Awesome capture with some "killer" light.

I like #3 the best with the caption: Why did the tiger cross the road

Thank you for sharing.

KD,

These are awesome. Sighting of tiger is an incredible opportunity. Yes, eye contact would have been wonderful. Sometimes we ask for too much.

Great set, paaji! Doesn't even bother me that there isn't eye contact. How often does anyone see a tiger so out in the open without any cover or obstruction? An amazing experience made even more amazing by the fact that you got these images to remember it!

Nice images of a close encounter with a tiger in the wild; something few experience. You seem to have enough such encounters to know the tiger by name and habit. Thanks for the posts of your photos.

Mitesh sirji, you are correct. To see a tiger in the wild in itself is a blessing. Please note that as per your earlier discussion, we are scheduled in Oct/Nov 2018 for Tadoba.

Birdie

thanks Roberta, I believe she found 2 of her 3 cubs. These were sub adult cubs so the probability is that the missing one may have gone out on his/her own way, or may be killed by a male.

thanks Dave, the fact of the matter is that you get attached to the subjects and since they are very few, it is easy to keep track of them

Well captured images of this wonderful creature, KD! It is better to be "ignored" than to be looked at as prey, I would say .

What a magnificent creature, and nicely captured. #1 is my favorite, and I think #2 might also be interesting with a panoramic crop?

Congrats on the amazing experience!
