Nice work Ben! There are definitely street photo possibilities in Utah.

Thanks for the smile Kent and the comment Steve.

Yep, this is just a fun post. I drove up yesterday with rented snow shoes. As you may be able to tell, I fell a dozen time and bent both poles.

This is the end of state highway 92 near the Robert Redford Sundance resort. They close the road but keep it groomed above the closure for cross country ski's snowshoes and boards. There was about a foot of hard packed snow over the road.

I hiked towards my target location but when I found a moose in the road, I decided to turn around. I will show an image tomorrow.

Thanks for the post, Ben. Reminds me to strap on my own snowshoes and get some exercise!

Yep, none here, but I just got back and had taken them off. I had light gloves inside fingerless mittens with a heat pouch in each glove. It was 20 F when I started out, but I was sweating when I got to the turn around. This is around 7,000 feet. It was around 30 by this point, and snowing lightly. Notice the Sorrells.

Ha! I love the poles! Looks like you had a great time Ben! Minus a few bruises here and there.

Now as for the backing down from a little moose. What were you thinking! Just run up and give em a big hug!

Looking forward to the ensuing images from your trip!

Dave

Thanks Dave, I will let you do the moose hugging.

It wouldn't be beyond me.

I tried to pet a little black bear cub once. Got within 4 inches before it yelled for mom who was straight up the same tree. And I also grabbed the tail of a wild 7-8 foot alligator once.

All those crazy things are now behind me and I no longer do such stupid things. Not so much for my safety but rather for the safety of the critters. Had something gone horribly wrong they would have been destroyed and if I survived I would have wished I didn't for doing such stupid things. Life's lessons.

Dave
