p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · SB800 TTL stopped working

My SB800 TTL has stopped working and only works on RPT and M modes. Has anyone with Nikon speedlight SB800 had a similar experience? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Dumb ideas: clean contacts on flash and hot shoe; ensure proper seating; ensure no pins are bent on the flash.

Rico _ I'll do that tonight when I get home and hopefully, that's all that's needed to fix the TTL issue. Thanks for that advice.

Depending on how much use and abuse it's seen I'd say it's lived a pretty long life for a $300 piece of electronics. But as Rico said, sometimes all it takes is clean contacts. Also, depending on the camera body (old D700) is could be the hot shoe itself. Clean the hot shoe contacts also.

Got home today and cleaned up the hotshoe/contacts and still the same issue with TTL. The SB800 fires but the image is almost pitch black. Tho' it still works with M/RPT/A modes.
