While sitting at the breakfast table this morning I glanced out at my suet feeders and lo-and-behold there perched on one of my branch props was a Cooper's Hawk (I think). So I quickly got my camera and for fear of it flying off, I took a few shots through the sliding glass door and sure enough as soon as I tried opening the door it was gone.
Not the best shots but thought they came out pretty good for shooting through a double -pain thermal glass door.

Nice, Louie. You must keep your windows cleaner than mine Because of the rounded head, I'd put money (but not much) on this being a Sharpie.

Those are fine images, especially considering they were captured through glass pane - well done, Louie!

Great images Louie! Lovely, soft light and killer backgrounds. Just beautifully captured and presented. When I first looked at this, I though Sharp-shin, because of the more rounded head, but a closer look is leaning me back towards a Cooper's. The light grey feathers at the back of the neck along with the eye position seem to indicate Cooper's Hawk. Do you have any photos with the tail visible? That would be definitive. These guys are notoriously difficult to tell apart.

In any event, well done, and thanks for posting!

Thank you so much Ed for going into such detail, however unfortunately I don't have a rear shot of the hawk and that is odd because that's the shot I usually get of them flying away.
