We have just published an Interview with Oliver Fecher, better known as aidualk in German forums. I really adore his astro work, take a look at his images and gear: https://phillipreeve.net/blog/manual-photographers-series-part-3-oliver-fecher-aidualk/

That was a great read, thanks!
I'm seriously considering getting the soon to be released Venus Optics Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D Lens for Sony E for Milky way shots over my Sony 16-35

This lens has been released but not too many have shipped. There are a few people that have got theirs but I have not seen any astro type shots yet. If coma performance is good, I will also spring for one.

I have the Laowa 12mm. I'm hoping to get some astro shots soon to test it.

Another lens that might be worth considering and having roughly the same price is the Samyang XP 14mm f/2.4. The Laowa is wider but slightly slower than the Samyang. I believe the Samyang XP will transmit exif data unlike the Laowa but it is available only in Canon/Nikon mount. So, an adapter will be required. BTW, the XP line is Samyang's upper end of lenses. I hope that the QC of this line is better than their regular line of lenses.

That Samyang XP 14mm f2.4 sounds promising. I do wish the Laowa 12mm would transfer EXIF.

Some older images. I'm chipping the dust layers off my gear.
A7r, astrotrac, composite. Samyang 14mm, 4 minutes for sky. Canon 17mm tse at twilight for land.

A7r composite with Tamron EF 15-30mm.
One 4 minute astrotrac for milky way and sky background. Meteor shots about ISO 5000, 30 secs, masked onto sky. Land in am same location and direction, low ISO.

I do not own the A7S or the FE16-35/4 but I liked both very much.

Here is a self portrait back in September 2015 during the moon eclipse.

I love astrophotography, especially the starscapes. Some really terrific examples in this thread.

I strongly believe that lens information as well as exif data for each image posted would make this thread even more helpful. If not too much to ask, I would even go as far as suggesting previous posters to include those data, please. Any data will help than just only images. Thanks!
