I won't call my old 7D completely obsolete, since it did have a 18MP sensor and was very capable, overall.
I will, however, call my old Canon XTi (400D) obsolete. With a measly 10MP sensor, no live view, no video, and abysmal AF and frame rates, it hardly stacks up against anything sold these days. Still... in many ways, I thought it produced better images than my 7D. Here are some examples:
