I have some stacked Sycamore logs which have been in my garden for two or more years. I find many interesting macro subjects on or among them.
One day in May 2015, I found some =<1mm fruiting bodies on the bark. They were black but glowed red in flashlight. I made enquiries of a local fungus expert but no name was forthcoming. Other visits found some scattered ones which were reddish in daylight. Later still, I found raspberry-like groups. It was only a recent purchase of a book on Ascomycetes which enabled me to identify the species as Nectria coccinea.
I took some high power shots with my reversed Schneider HM40mm on the x 1.5 Kiron TC,and others with my Leitz Wetzlar Photar 50mm f2.8, on shot of ripe, black individuals. The low magnification ones were with my Kiron 105mm macro. All were on the EM-1 in manual mode and typically at f16 nominal. All were lit by two or three flash TTL.
There is one crosseye stereo.
