Not entirely sure what you try to proof with this picture. Can't be to show the quality of both body or lens as these are capable of much more.
It can't be the showcase quality of the picture as it really doesn't show anything.

I'm assuming just to share a photo of the sheer number of birds. Pretty amazing to see a massive flock of snow geese like this.

I like it! Thanks for sharing.

Awful annoying buggers that flock all the fields in my city en-masse squawking, eating all the grass, and pooping everywhere.

Otherwise, cool photo. Captures the frenzy and sheer size of the flock.

Now Vinnie, it shows motion blur.

Tough crowd indeed. I am sure that most all Wildlife photographers have shot images similar to this one, at one time or another.

Tried to shoot snow geese this year. When the light was right, there were no birds; then the birds where flying, the light was poor. This is the most I can make out of images at 1/5 sec. handheld.

Try using a higher shutter speed, and maybe a tripod. ;-)

I did. There was simply not enough light. I used Nikon 80-400 lens. ISO was 2000 and aperture was wide open at 5.6.

In SD you can use a wide angle and get the shot. The flocks can hit half a million.

Kent in SD

These are great sxgva. I like motion blur in a shot of a large group of animals. Gives the photo life instead of a static still life composition. Shows innovation on your part--take the shot even though conditions aren't optimal.

Have you ever stopped to consider the sheer number of tons of fresh goose guano on your tundra during migration season?
