Given that the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens is about the same price as the Rokinon, I suspect many users go the Canon route. I used to own a 6D and the only discernable difference I could find between the cheaper 100 macro and the L version is that the L version adds stabilization. Otherwise, the Canon is an excellent performer even with the cheaper version.
But if the Rokinon is great then saving $50 might be worthwhile
