I don't think it was used twice - look on the wear on the mount. There's only four photos (seven of the tripod?!?), but it looks clean. I'd always want to see the front element, the switches, etc... It's good that there's a photo of the lenses standing on the hood. That's +$500 if you had to replace it and they aren't the most robust piece of gear.
Also, the lens comes with a clear filter in the holder that is part of the optical grouping, there's no mention of that. I'd email him asking about it. It you;ld be because he's never sold anything on eBay so he doesn't know what to say/how to sell it.
I'd be positive about and if there's a problem with it, you can always send it in for any repair. My intuition tells me he's got more cash than experience as a photographer, hence the holes in the listing. You got a very good deal with the tripod included. Here's a link to get an idea of when you lens was produced. If it's an early one, it might be a good idea to send it in for a tune up anyway:

If I were you, I'd be buying a Wimberley, Kirk or RRS foot for it before it even arrives. You won't want to use the original. Also, pick up an Aquatech rubber lens cap for it for $39. It's a great piece of mind. You may also want to be start thinking about a bag for it as you won't want to lug around that case. I bought a ThinkTank Glass Limo, but would've bought their Glass Taxi if I were to do it all over.
FWIW, I've only bought one lens on eBay, my 200/2. I felt comfortable because the seller was a well known fashion and commercial photographer who had also sold a number of high priced Zeiss lenses and received excellent feedback as a seller....Show more →
Thanks a lot for your comments and all the advice. I rarely buy on eBay too, and I do agree that this seller probably has more cash than experience as a photographer, and his very few feedback could also be a source of concern, though his eBay account has been active for 18 years. But these days, with triple buyer protection from eBay, Paypal, and Amex, I usually am not too concerned, as I know I can get my money back if there are any real issues, even though it could always be a bit of hassle.
As for Wimberley foot replacement, yes, I already ordered one from B&H used dept. As for Aquatech cap, I am not too sure. I'd bought Don Zeck N10 cap for our 200/2 but never really liked it as it seemed to leave marks on the plastic around the front of the lens. I usually use LensCoat Hoodie lens covers which I like. As for the bag, I use F-Stop Satori EXP with an XL ICU which I really like. What I don't like about Glass Taxi is that it won't fit anything else besides the camera and the super-tele, whereas I typically like to carry a couple of other pieces of gear as well (e.g., smaller lenses, flash, etc.). So depending on what I plan to carry, I either use TT StreetWalker Pro or F-Stop Satori EXP.
