p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Lowel Omni / Tota Lights LED Question

I just picked up 2 Omni and 1 Tota lights with hard case and stands for $20USD at a thrift store and I had a question about them.
They all work great but they all have the 500 watt, super hot halogen bulb.
There is a place for using those bulbs but, I was wondering if there is a way to use an LED bulb in these? Or if there is an LED conversion kit?
I know it would not be as bright if it were possible, but in some instances, the tradeoff would be worth it.
Thanks a lot!

There is no quick/easy way to change these lights to LED without completely changing the wiring and lamp holding fixture parts.

One option is to purchase a lower wattage halogen bulb, i.e., 300W bulb. Be aware that the color temperature emitted will not be 3200K.

Another option is to use the existing lights you already own with a dimmer control to significantly reduce the light output of the 500W (or any other wattage) bulb. Again, note that some exposure and color balance testing will be required to match the color temperature (K) that has changed as a result of the reduction/dimming of the bulbs.

Good luck!
