This is great, Rick.
I keep expecting to see a bit more of a surface upon which they stand, but it isn't necessary and might remove some of the magic.
Probably works well in BW, too, although the color palette in the sky is very appealing.

Thanks Scott and Ben. These guys were looking for strays again, so I thought I would play with their picture.

Good effect, wrong title.

Far me it from me to impinge on on the title of the classic country song "Ghost Riders in the Sky" by Stan Jones

This certainly has a different and interesting look.

Great experiment approach. On the negative side, I after the initial look, the chromatic noise and color blotches are distracting. A lot of that may just be due to the limitations of downsized internet image.

Great image, Rick. Well rendered and with an unusual mood; a mix of drama and tranquillity. I know you like to put the horizon low in your images, but in this case it works as it imparts a sense of isolation and of a vast and "empty" space. Probably one of the best images you have posted.

I had taken a quick peak at this one this morning and have not been able to get the song out of my head all day.

In other words, you nailed this one Rick. Nice job on both the processing and the title.

Me too, When I was about 5, I used to pick out this tune on my grandmothers piano with one finger. It ranks right up there with the William Tell Overture. It was the firts thing I thought of when I saw this image and before I saw the link.
