Came across this looking for an 82mm adapter for my Lee foundation kit, seems to have a few great reviews and it's less than half the price. Just curious if any fmers use these and what their experience is. Thanks!

I love that statement: "Proudly Shipped in the USA"

doesn't look bad though. and he is relatively near the both of us. I might take the shot on it.

I have a couple of them including this 82mm and have had no problems with the fit or threads on it compared to my Lee adapter.

I sure hope it is shipped in the USA. How else will one receive it?

well it arrived and looked quite nice. material was thin though adequate. pulled out my 11-20/2.8 Tokina removed the 82mm BT UV filter and attempted to screw on the FD 82mm. NO GO. tried multiple times. couldn't get it to start on the thread. put the BT back on and it threaded in normally and secure. I believe that I will stick with the original. back it has gone.

So is it not 82mm, not round, or the thread pitch is not the usual 0.75mm?

simple would not engage that knocks out the pitch (even then I could get a bite on the lead in) and it was round. I do believe a tolerance issue on diameter. not really 82mm.

and like many I do not like taking the responsibility of retuning on my dime when it is a hard fail out of the box.

Thank you for the input on this. I was specifically looking at the 82mm as well for the Sigma 24 105 art

it will either cost you nothing if it works or $2.60 return mail if it doesn't.

I've used his stuff for years. It's good stuff. A great alternative to the expensive LEE filter system. I wrote up a review on amazon a few years ago. Link: Filterdude Amazon Review

Somewhat mixed reviews, but guess I'll at least try him for an adapter I need.

I bought a 77mm adapter from him a while back.. It's worked flawlessly.

addendum: was sent a second adapter by the dude. what I did find was that the issue I was having was related to the lens in relationship to the WA holder. the slot where the lens threads in is not wide enough to fit my particular lens. from what I can see it is a lens related issue not the filterdudes product. the Tokina 11-20 is rather thick where the lens hood attaches. not friendly to the 82mm WA adapter. his product is very well made.

I placed that filter adapter ring in the cart for few years, maybe 2 or 3 years i can't remember, and i never ordered it yet, how funny.

But good i didn't order it because i removed it from cart, i went with Haida large filter holder and i buy Haida adapter rings, so i never look back to smaller one such as this one, i even found 82mm, 77mm, and 95mm adapter rings for Haida holder so i can use for many UWA lenses or even WA lenses i have.

went to B&H and tried out the original Lee 82mm WA adapter and it was also a NO GO on the Tokina 11-20/2.8
