I'd like to get some even nicer looking boxes (the luxe ones from PhotoFlashDrive aren't bad by any means), and some combination small prints + usb boxes. I was looking at Cypress, but it's almost $100 PER BOX for just a simple usb-only option. And that's without the USBs (which I already have). So who are you folks using for a nice linen or silk fancy USB and/or proof box?

I use Millers. They have a really nice wooden box/print combo. There's other materials to choose from as well. Can't remember the exact price, but I think it's around $70 for the customized box and 20ish prints, no USB included.

I use WHCC for my customized boxes and drives. If you just want them generic and not personalized to the couple there are certainly cheaper options.

People really spend $70-$100 on their boxes? Holy smokes.

Mine are a simple white box with my logo, room for a stack of 4x6 prints and a usb drive, priced around $10 per box.

I started making ours. Each one hand chiseled.

Just playing. I have access to a CNC. I do 5x7 prints and a custom box top for each client.

I use BayPhoto's flash drive case with a metallic photo cover.

I have been skeptical about the idea of not delivering a physical product for the digital files to reside on, but Apple seems hell bent on this being the case. First they drop disc drives, now USB-C only. It is just a matter of time...

I stopped sending USB's a while back. I send an a3 fine art print instead and do online download. In my experice nobody really uses USB anymore and they just get lost.

Interesting that you guys are saying USB is on its way out, haven't heard that before. I think of the USB drive as being their separate backup of the images, once they download them to the computer, that's something they can keep somewhere safe in case their computer crashes etc...

I don't see whatever no-name USB device that is available cheap and significantly marked up after a lab engraves it as being a long-term data backup solution for my clients. It is a delivery device. I do digital as well, but I just like the idea of having something physical as well. Sure, it is better than nothing.

I'm not making a prediction about USB, I'm just stating fact. Apple has already done away with it on the flagship laptops. IIRC, they also spearheaded the demise of CD/DVD/BD drives from computers as well.

If you are doing one-off customized you are going to be looking at $50.00-$100.00 for a box that holds prints and with a drive.

That's not quite right, they do still have USB they just have a different connector (USB-C). That said I do see the demise of the normal USB connector coming which will make it hard to plug those devices in.

I haven't kept up with USB-C I just assumed it was backwards compatible.

That is my point. Needing an adapter is just as well incompatible.
