p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Bantam Hockey Goalie action week 6 Part 1

Latest attempt at trying to apply the help from everyone in the past few weeks. I still have a ways to go but I am feeling like I am making progress. This is my first attempt with LR. I am struggling with making the players pop and the ice look natural. I feel like these are too hot but when I try and pull them back in LR, I am almost casting a shadow over the whole picture.

This one is for the Goalies.

I would say they look underexposed to me. When I shoot hockey I set my EC to +1 - +1 2/3 stop depending on the lighting. Everything in the rink is bright and your camera will try to make it 18% grey. What did your histogram look like?

Here is a sample of last Saturday. I shot these at +1 2/3 stop EC and they only needed a little post processing in Lightroom. (Hopefully this works I have not posted from this hosting site before) This is only the second time I have shot Hockey so I have a lot of room for improvement but my first shoot had a dull feel to them and required a lot of work in lightroom. By adjusting my EC it made a big difference as far as the basic adjustments to the image.

Better then before but WB is off. Hope you are shooting RAW. It will be an easy fix in LR

I took the liberty of loading your image into Photoshop and tweaked the white balance, upped the exposure .35, cropped and ran it through the shadows filter.
