p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Nikon D810 flash - stop from popping up

I use the D810 strictly for landscape work and just like with my old D800, I NEVER want that tiny little flash to pop up. My problem is when I am grabbing camera out of the bag sometimes I hit the little release button. Has anyone tried putting a rubber band around it or using some kind of tape?
I am fully aware that you can disable the flash under the menu but that is not my problem. It is hitting the little button and releasing it by mistake that way. Thanks for any input!

I think this is why they make gaffer tape. That is what I use.

A close match to the finish of the camera body is 3M COMPANY SUPER 33 PLUS Electrical Tape.

It is pretty good about not leaving any residue behind.

Maybe a small dot or two of Blue Tack on the right non-visible spots where two surfaces meets? Should be easy to remove without a trace on plastic.

I have never had that problem. Maybe you just need to change your technique? Or get a different bag? It sure would be horrible to have to tape your flash down.

Primarily I use a ThinkTank backpack. When I put the camera in the "notch" provided for the main camera body, sometimes that little flash button on my D800 and now the D810 gets hit and the flash pops up. However, now utilizing the wise counsel of trenchmonkey even if it is depressed it is only barely raised up. Great solution. Thx for everyone's input.
