There's something about this image that is just really cool. Maybe because it's on US 50 - the loneliest road in America, but this captures exactly what I remember about it. Stayed there on the way to somewhere else, but it's been over twenty years now.

Thanks for the compliments. I took this and other photos in 1989 on a trip to the southwest. My first visit. The parks were crowded but not Nevada. The light was was something I did not expect. Based on childhood trips across the DESERT I pictured searing heat, blank skies, and overheating worries. The Great Basin was something still foreign and not quite comfortable but definitely a beautiful a place. I went back to explore the Basin quite a bit over the ensuing years which was a different experience than the hometown Sierra Nevada.
