Both sets are great. My main suggestion would be to raise your camera a little. Also, in #2 I would turn the gentleman so that he is turned more towards his daughter and wife rather than away from them.

I really, really like the B&W set. You can really see the connection between them. I would suggest that they would be even better if the two were touching in 8 and 11. For instance, if her hand was on his knee and his hand was on top of hers it would show a more intimate connection between the two. The others where they are obviously engaged in conversation are perfect like they are. They make me want to hear what they are talking about. Terrific job!

good point about height of the camera on the first set. They wanted to shoot at their house outdoors and they were sitting on the front porch steps above me. In retrospect after you pointed it out, that's not the most flattering viewpoint for portraits! The b/w are of a couple who I've known for years and are close friends. I wanted to produce a portrait which shows them as I see them which would be other than a posed portrait. The only instruction I gave them was to interact with each other as though I wasn't present, and that is consistent with my preferred genre of shooting candid street portraits. Thanks for the feedback!
