I really like the first one, Scott. Looks like a studio photo. Beautiful light, pose and tonality while the dark bg adds a lot of power to the image. I wouldn't touch it.

This has got to be the coolest bird shot I have ever seen! How on earth did you get that kind of light?
Did you hand him a light to hold in his other wing?

And yep! This is perfect for the season. I can hear him saying " I am The Count... Count Anhinga! Bla...bla..bla"

I loved the B&W when I saw it on that forum, but I agree, I like the color even more. If you tell me that was shot in the wild, Ill croak.

BTW, channeling Karen, I am thinking the first needed rotation (unfortunately at the expense of the fuller display of feathers) and perhaps less centered. The Halloween-inspired version tried to incorporate her channeled advice.

Silly. He can't hold a light with the other wing.
But the other anhinga held the torch for us.

Wow, really, that is amazing. With the light and background I figured it was staged somehow. Makes the image even more impressive.
