Nice shot Eric with the sunbeam highlight....love these little guys and I find them fairly approachable and photogenic.

They do seem to freeze when approached...I guess they know movement triggers the chase.

It looks like something startled this little guy. Maybe it was just the sunlight that made him do that. Great capture, Eric!
Joshua
Thanks Joshua...it was in exactly the same position from the minute I spied it...I guess it is possible I startled it but since it was on a well traveled path I would have thought it was used to people...and I did search the trees for any hungry hawks or owls.

Well done Eric. These little guys sure are cute. I don't see them around our property. It might be because a neighbor feeds feral cats. The last time I asked him how many, he said about 50...
Ron
Holy crap Ron....50 cats....it's a wonder you have any other wildlife in your area.

Sweet little portrait. The light seems made-to-order to add a little drama; love it!
Thanks for posting.

Thanks Kim...I agree about the light...I probably wouldn't have taken it if he was either all in the shadows or totally lit up.

Next time maybe you can get a bobcat taking one of these.
400 DOII; maybe I need one?

Now you're talking...I was hoping for an attack from above but it was not to be....I did manage a fox later in the day but the two were never going to meet.
