A case of look what the cat bought in. Rescued it from the cat in an undamaged state and photographed it one handed whilst I held the tail with my other hand. I did release it back into one of my compost bins (they like living in there).

Better man than me the fate rendered. I'm at a point where I won't kill a bug but mice/rats/squrrels...well I've just a ways to go I guess.
Beautiful capture especially handling it the way you did; brave too. I've taken a hit from
lab mice and if you've never I think some would be surprised at how long their incisors actually are.

I've just got softer as I get older and now only kill large slugs and snails.
