p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Camera cover / tarp?

I'm looking for a tarp or something similar that I can use to cover my camera and my head so that I can see the screen without a lot of light. When it's cooler outside, I use my jacket, but in the summer I don't have that option. Preferably something that will fold up neatly and can be storedi n my bag.

I have glasses so those eye piece items won't work for me.

I don't like those due to my eye glasses.

Just buy a small piece of dark fabric and drape it over your camera. Cheapest investment.

Presumably because it seems like a custom job that may end up looking like a head brace.

What's wrong with the dark fabric idea. Fifty cents is worth a try, no?

I don't know how much material you need but I just tried my 19"x19" Domke wrap which serves multiple proposes in my kit, fairly good size, completely light tight so outside color is irrelevant and lots of Velcro area
Domke wrap

mine is generally wrapped around my sidekick

Really you are asking for a dark cloth like used on large format view/field cameras but scaled down.

I just got a Fotosharp rain protector - mine is white but it still limits light around the viewfinder and live view. All it would need is extra fabric sewn or velcroed on to it and it would work as a rain sleeve and a dark cloth.

BTW, it worked very well as a rain sleeve.

The large wrap above might be the easiest approach but a bit too small. You could find a used, small dark cloth and use bulldog clips to fasten to the camera. Some of the small, light dark cloths (e.g. Paramo, Ebony) are more expensive though. Cotton fabric might work.
