p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Some shots with the new Tamron 150-600 G2 compared to the 200-500

Got back from a trip to the Gulf Coast yesterday and had the opportunity to test out my new Tamron 150-600 G2.
Here are some shots that my wife and I got of the same subjects for comparison.
This is NOT scientific in any way but does represent real world results.
My wife was using a D7200 and the 200-500 and I was using the Tamron on a D7000.
Just look at the signatures G N Mink were all with the Tamron.

Thanks for posting this. I think I might (barely) prefer the 200-500mm shots though. How do you feel autofocus speed compares between the two?

I've not had the opportunity to compare them yet on the same camera body. This weekend I'm going to set up a test target and check to see if the AF needs to be fine tuned on my D7000 and I'll try to make a comparison between the two in regards to AF speed.

We have owned the original Tamron 150-600 and the Sigma Contemporary and neither were as sharp as the Nikon. I think this new Tamron comes pretty close based on my limited experience with it thus far.

BTW, that eagles nest was shot from about 120 yards

Oh cripes, and silly me missed the fact that you were shooting a D7000 vs. the D7200. So not entirely fair comparison for the lens.

Glad to hear you are liking the new Tamron.
