Congratulations to guitardirky for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 18 votes - View Previous Winners

I spent the weekend in Grand Teton National Park. It was my first time in the park and it was a blast. Unfortunately, my tripod took a dip and my D810 was ruined by water damage. I still managed to capture some amazing stuff along the way. Here are a collection of Landscapes and Wildlife I captured. Obviously Moose are my favorite.

Here are photos 1-5.

This is an extremely nice set Matt. Way too many good ones to pick, but that first landscape would be hanging on my wall if it was mine ~ Ron

Good luck.

Thanks! Still a few things that eluded me like the Great Gray Owl, but I also got a decent shot of a Pine Marten.

Thanks the 2 pronghorn I found were the only cooperative subjects during that snow fall.

Might be replacing the D810 with a cheaper used D800 in the mean time...

Thanks! without the D810, I had to 2 shot HDR that one to get the exposure right.

I had been working on planning this trip for a year. I had built a custom google maps - map that had road /routeinformation, ideal places for landscapes that I wanted to capture, as well as proximity information for wildlife reports. By doing this I was able to be successful with my limited time. I still missed out on some of the landscapes due to the D810 mishap.... Next Time!

Thanks Greg! Landscapes and Moose were on the top of my list going in. I came out with over 2000 photos and I shot lightly believe it or not. There are a number of landscapes that I didn't post as well as a number of moose shots that I just didn't include.

A superb weekend for sure. Beautiful images. Such a range. To name a few, the Mormon Barn is spectacular. The close-ups of the pronghorns in the falling snow have a special feeling for these animals facing the onset of winter. You can feel a cold melancholy from the moose in the darkly colorful late fall landscape. So many great accomplishments in such a short time. You must be elated.
