Seriously weird and interesting. I cannot tell what I am looking at.

I love the lines of the wavelets, but like Jim I can't tell what this is. Could you brighten the snail up a bit, or perhaps even the whole frame, so we can get more detail out of it? Also, consider moving the snail off of the vertical center. Just my 2 cents.

Some localized dodging ... does that help?

Yes I think it helps. In the you-learn-something-every-day category, I didn't know snails could swim!

Thanks,

An imaginative capture, beautifully processed. I like the way the antennas mirror the shape of the "V" reflections in the water. Like others though, I wasn't sure about the snail, if it is floating on a leaf, or if the surrounding brown is part of it's body? Excuse me in this regard but I'm just a city boy.

Thanks guys,

I didn't know snails could swim either ... but, I think this is two leaves, not a snail.

The "snail's pace" was just about how slowly the leaves were moving along ... and the fact that they reminded me of a snail with the leaf stem reflection in the water, etc. It just struck me of watching a snail struggling to get to where he was going.

Disclaimer: No snails were harmed (or photographed) in the making of this image.

Ha! I love it! And then I read your "snails pace" and now I can't "unsee" the snail.

I'm ok with the OP image. Very nice use of natural lines and curves.

Interesting.
I didn't get the snail thing until reading further. Glanced over the comments.
But I think this beautifully illustrates an effective, simple, perfectly designed composition with excellent processing. Others might have moved on and never even attempted the image.
