p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Youngin's this summer

First image is of a Mule Deer fawn 'dropped' in our garden this year. Now maturing and losing its spots. Mom has been keeping guard and 'enjoying' our vegetable garden. Deterrents don't seem to be work well on mule deer. I planted micro-clover this year in an attempt to rehabilitate my parched lawn. The Okanagan is semi-arid and lawns characteristic of the east and the lower mainland don't do well here. Clover has been a success but the deer love to eat it too.

Second and third are momma and probably papa.

C and C welcome and appreciated.

Alan

2 and 3 are my picks Alan. The last would be better if you were able to isolate the background more and I don't know of opening up more was an option at 300mm with your lens.

Very nice set. While it must be frustrating loosing your lawn to them, it also must be wonderful to get to watch them and see the little one grow up.

Agreed Morris. Need an inverted mask to darken the background.

The lawn is not a big deal. It grows back quickly enough. The bigger issue is personal safety as the females are VERY protective of the fawns and will attack if threatened. Many consider them a pest because they will eat many gardens. The trick is to plant stuff they don't like. Thanks for stopping by.
