I am looking for a reliable CF to SD card converter, does such a thing exist? Does anybody have any anecdotes or stats pertaining to failure rates for these? I like to shoot my D3 a lot, but I would like a way to backup from an SD card without having to carry around a card reader.

The last adapter I bought was for CF Type I and it immediately captured the SD card permanently. I have some old Type II adapters, but they are only usable in some PSDs that have the Type II slots. Type II slots in cameras are long gone along with the microdrive.

You are talking in- camera right? Where you can use your SD card in a CF slot? I use a bottom-of-the-barrel adapter - works fine.
