OK so I got curious. My dad always called them sea hawks while I was growing up in Florida. So I googled, found a wiki-

'The osprey (Pandion haliaetus) also called fish eagle, sea hawk, river hawk, and fish hawk is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey with a cosmopolitan range.'
