I just want a second dial for the index finger! I wonder if you are forced to upgrade to FF for this feature.

I am happy they are constantly iterating even though I literally just bought an a6300 2 weeks ago.

I think the price is very competative with other makes of higher end APS cameras. Now for me personally the price is too high as it would not be my main camera.

Hard to say what's a competitive price considering the A6500 pretty much destroys the competition in features. All the same, these things are getting pricey

Wow. Sony keeps being the most interesting girl at the dance. Not the prettiest, fastest, biggest, smallest, or necessarily the smartest. But damn if she isn't interesting. Makes me overloook the other lacks.

Now, if they would just release some top-notch APS-C glass.

A 10-24/4, 16-50/2.8, and a 50-150/2.8 would be perfect. Then add a couple more nice, smallish primes (12/2, 55/1.2, 135/2.8), and they could compete with Fuji on aps-c.

If Sony makes an FE 70-400mm, I may be interested. Right now I am happy with my two A7RIIs and my Nikon D500 (plus Nikon and Sigma teles).

Yea this is what I don't get. The 10-18 is a good lens but.... where's the rest of the e-mount glass? If you are going to have to buy FF size lenses for good performance, you might as well buy a a7rII.

Hate to admit this as m43 and lower end a5 series has had it for so long, but the touchscreen is the feature stirring up GAS in me. Luckily, I know an FE with touchscreen is probably 6 months away. Finally, a fast way to pick focus to go with that fast AF and awesome video quality. Maybe fully articulating LCD is next?

I sense a lot of Fujis coming to B&S as switchers rush back to Sony just months after they rushed to Fuji from Sony ... at least till the next big camera announcement.

Already A6300 up for sale on the board. Lots of good stuff here. 1400 is maybe 100 bucks too much but it's still worth it

Looks rather nice, though looking at the B&H page it appears to have gotten 50% heavier, guess that's the result of the IBS and possibly better heat sink (to maintain that framerate)??

a6300 295g to 450g a6500.

I see they've added the highlight priority mode for exposure.

They need to hurry up and release a A7iii with all these features!

Actually that's not accurate. The A6300 weighs about 14.25 oz or 404 grams.

It's only a 50g weight increase.

It's interesting how well the A6300 had help up its value after release. Most have sold on B+S within 10-15% of the new price. I imagine we'll see a modest dip on those prices with the introduction of the A6500.

True, the numbers for the a6300 were wrong 400g to 450g so ~12% which is much better.

Actually this could help me if I decided to go medium format as I still need a Sony on hand. I could easily use this for any PR gig I have and be able to sell the A7rII. That's of course there is nothing new in A7 series which I doubt highly. If they take these feature sets and throw them in a A7 serious that becomes one hell of flagship model by far. Through a 70mpx sensor in it and look out

Looks like I sold my a6300 at a good time! Just wondering if the buffer flush time has improved or whether it'll still take a long time. I know it says 307 shot buffer which is good, but wondering if it clears faster or if it'll lock up like previous models to write to the card. If that's the case and you're doing full bursts, better get the 128GB cards ready.

No mention of any new lenses is sad though. And I would put my money against any grip of any kind, so ergonomically it'll be awkward to hold for some.

I love how Sony trolls their users and other camer makers with such frequency. Every release is like theater. Pop some popcorn and read the exasperation in the forums. This camera really does feel like a response to all the great cameras announced and released recently. Where the a6000 reigned supreme in the cropped market for awhile, the a6300 wasn't enough of an upgrade relative to the competition. I see the a6500 as a forced release to regain attention.

I'm hoping something forces an a6700 in 6 months. That will be fun to watch.

The A6500 lets you now do videos down to 1 fps. That's an awesome feature for time lapses.
