I like a lot about this image. But I am not sure how the pose and crop work. Particularly how much leg to include, if that works at all
Below is my best crop so far. And beneath that, uncropped
And a variation.

Whaddya think

Never get tired of seeing this guy. I like the first but its very close to the uncropped. The expression and head tilt make it compared to the last.

It is all about his precious face, Scott. I don't think the inclusion of the legs adds anything. The contrary.
This is how I see it. I opened his face a bit and darkened the bg.

Thanks Socrate. I think your first crop works well as an alternative.

Thanks Karen for joining in. I am always surprised at how much repetition I need to learn. It's clear that, short of fill flash or a reflector, I need to be more assertive with brightening up the face. I take it that the position isn't too awkward. I note the slight crop from the left.

Cropping from the edge and the top shifts the eyes further off center. It would likely be even better if more space was available at the bottom of the frame to de-center his eyes more. Having his eyes off-center makes the composition more visually dynamic, typically.

Note to self (and others) for portraits

1. De-center eyes
2 More chest
3 Open shadows, dodge, add fill flash, use reflector, exposure comp as options for subject

thanks Karen!
feel free to add to summarize your helpful and oft-repeated advice

... and don't be afraid to warm-up sky illuminated faces.
