I have 2 600EX-rt and one 580EXII flashes. I read on one of these boards that there is a radio trigger I can add to the 580EXII so it will operate with the ST-E3 and the other 600EX-rt flashes. I can't find that thread now. What I want to do, is use the 580EXII in a 3 flash setup in HSS either bounced or shot through an umbrella in HSS mode using the ST-E3 as master. Does anyone know of such a radio trigger, one that will work in TTL and HSS with the 580EXII? Thanks.

Think I've come across a youtube video that states you can mount a 580EXII on YNE3-RX receiver, set to same channel and 4-digit ID as the trigger to incorporate 580EXII into canon RT system.
I don't have first hand experience, so you may have to research the capability and inter-operability of YNE3-RX with Canon RT system. Also, my research on this indicates you can trigger 580EXII with this configuration in the RT system but power output will need to be set manually...this much I saw from a post in POTN board.

Thanks. I was hoping to also keep TTL compatibility with the trigger. I'll check it out but I think there was another trigger, wish I could find that thread. I may cross post in the lighting board.

Thanks! That was the thread I searched for, I even commented in it back when it was current. I ordered the Yongnuo trigger. Worth a try.

Let us know your experience. I'm transitioning from YN-622C-TX to YN-E3-RT system but don't want do away with my existing 580EX II and YN-568EX II speedlights. I purchased a YN600 EX recently and looking to get anotherYN600 EX and the YN-E3-RT trigger.

It's a bit of a price toss up with the trigger costing $41 and a YN600EX $114. The Canon 580EXII is probably more robust than the Yongnuo flash and since I already have it... I'll take a chance on the trigger for my application.

The YN-E3-RX adaptor (costs $40) when mounted with the 580EXII will essentially turn it into a radio-controlled capable (e.g. 600EX-RT) with full ETTL functionality and works perfectly with the Canon ST-E3-RT controller. I'm using this combo.

Thanks, I ordered the YN-E3-RX so good to know it will do what I want with the 580EXII.
