I bought the 50-140 a while ago as the backup lens for my 56 1.2. I actually did not put it in good use. After I got the X-T2 on Friday and read some posts here, just realized people recommended this lens a lot. So I put it on my newly purchased X-T2 and bring them to a shooting session today. Here are 3 picture from the session and one I shot on the way home. Hope people who owns this lens can share more and that might also help people on the fens.
My impression: it focus fast especially with X-T2. Due to the range it is very versatile as a portrait lens. The bokeh is beautiful. It should be a very good working lens for event, weddings, etc.

I used it to photograph a wedding recently, and it worked beautifully. (For those who may know me, no, I am not starting a new career as a wedding photographer!)

Nice! I just love that botanical portrait, I use mine for that as well! I was surprised by the 50-140 myself.

Nice set! The floral shot is outstanding; incredible detail, but the delicacy of the bloom shines through.

Geez Dan, as we are getting older you're getting INTO it and I got OUT of it after doing weddings for close to 20 years. Enjoy......I agree this 50-140 sure is surgically sharp

I have an excuse. It was for my son and daughter in law, who got married in Italy at a very small family and friends ceremony. Guess who got tasked with photographing? ;-)

I can't share the photographs, at least not until I've finished working them up for "the kids." I used the 50-140 for shooting the outdoor ceremony, under trees in shade at sunset with strong backlighting. (Hey, they picked the location and time for romantic reasons, not my photography!)

One cool thing about using this lens with the Fujifilm XPro2 was that I could use the electronic shutter setting and shoot completely silently. And, given that challenging light, I was able to intentionally underexpose a bit, but still allow some background and highlights to intentionally blow out a bit, and then adjust things easily in post.

Yeah, gotta love being the default photographer for the family! The only thing 'saving' me is that we're all military, so we live far enough apart that getting together is fairly uncommon.

Strangely enough, though, both sets of my in-laws (which are both military) will be a day's drive from me soon, on either side of NM -- so I'm sure I'll get 'deployed' to take photos.

Oh, and my wife's entire family (her parents, her sister's family and brother's family) are all visiting us for Thanksgiving so.....yeah, I'll have to bust out the light stands, umbrellas and strobes I'm sure

Honestly it usually ends up being fairly fun. I got to put my former Pan-Leica 42.5/1.2 to good use last time this happened.

These are really nice. I think I'll get the lens eventually, still undecided if I really need it, though it's hard to argue the versatility of that focal range.

Bokeh looks great except for one circumstance, and that's distant leaves -- it looks a little busy to me, and I'm not sure why. Yours isn't the first shot to do this (actually every sample I've seen from this lens the distant, highlighted leaves are just too 'in focus').

This perplexes me because otherwise bokeh looks great, I especially like how the wall melts away in your shot given here.

Thanks for sharing!

I have seen so many shots of the peacocks over the years but I have to admit, this reveals the MOST detail and sharpness of all of the one's I've seen with some great cameras along the way. Nicely done

Thank you , I'm a big fan of the 50-140 although I don't currently own one (working on it). I think it's one the best lenses in the Fuji lineup , and one of the reasons I love the Fuji cameras, and lenses.

One more ....

hauxon, those photos are fantastic! I really, really love the airplane wreck shot!

Here are a couple of mine, actually taken with JustShootMe's old lens. The first few were taken with the 1.4x TC.
