Thanks for the link to the combat pants, looks very interesting!

Personally I use these https://www.fjallraven.se/keb-trousers-regular

A Swedish brand, very high quality with ability insert kneepads from the outside. The kneepads I use are small foam ones and works really well. It also works just cutting a outdoor sitting pad as a square and stuffing it in there, that way you can adjust the thickness a bit more your self.

I frequently have to wear slacks when shooting D1 football (long story), so I use volleyball knee pads and wear them under my pants. They're not bulky and provide just enough comfort for an entire game.

I ahve tried many different kneepads over the years and finally found a pair about 2 years ago that work great. They don't slip and slide around the kneecap and have very good padding. They can be found at some Home Depots, which is where I purcahsed my first pair, but are less expensive on Amazon. They are McGuire Ortho Wrap Kneepads, under $30 and worth every penny. Here is the link for Home Depot /www.homedepot.com/p/McGuire-Nicholas-Ortho-Wrap-Knee-Pads-1BL-22410/205610963.

Not a sports shooter but I spend a fair amount of time shooting on one knee (with a big lens on a big gimbal/mono) on hard surfaces and on both knees (and elbows) in the desert and by rocky/muddy creeks.

These Harbor Freight hard pads work very well for me and, as fussy as I am about most things, they’re not uncomfortable enough to cause any thought. The cushioning handles the hard surfaces and the hard cap protects from rocks and many other sticker-y things.

I use the http://www.511tactical.com/ pants with the removable kneepads and absolutely love them, but Andy probably just cost me $202.

I have a pile of 5.11 pants and the really comfortable ones wear quickly at the knees. The only ones that hold up seem to be the TacLite pants but there is no stretch to them. I'd rather just wear removable knee pads.
