I could not find a thread for this lens, so here it goes...

It's a weird FL for me personally, but I see you've had 240+ views. So,
put the word Official in the thread title...that might get things rolling.

I love this lens. It is my first stop to ensure that I get the shot.

One of my daughter almost directly into the sun from a couple weeks ago, handled flare pretty well and made for a nice warm summery feel.

Thanks for the post TM.
I find myself doing weird things with lenses these days... close-ups with the 24mm f/1.8, landscapes with the 60mm f/2.8 Micro, and anything other than portraits with the 85mm f/1.8.

Just experimenting with how different focal lengths change how I see things...

I do the same with my 24mm 1.8g. It handles close ups pretty well. 85mm 1.8g is just a fantastic lens. I have done a couple of panos with it recently but haven't gotten around processing them. Will post it soon. Since I acquired D810, find myself shooting only with 24mm and 85mm. Fantastic lenses those two. Just need to get 58mm 1.4g to round up the kit now!

Good inexpensive lens. Great for capturing summer water memories.

I am glad that you started this thread, Darrin. The 85/1.8G is a remarkable lens, especially considering its very reasonable price.

And despite what you may read on the internet, the 85/1.8G autofocus tracks fast movement quite nicely on the D750:

Very nice photos Bruce.
Browsing through my photo archive I realized that I haven't used this lens that much on the D810. I plan to use it more often in the future.

Wait, I thought one becomes poor by buying expensive lenses . . .
