I've had a play with the files from the 1dx2, 5d3, 5d4, 5dsr and d810. From what I can see, the 1dx2 and 5d4 perform fairly similarly. Bear in mind of course these are all JPEGs...

Hard to compare the d810 as it's JPEG engine is so different. The high ISO files from the Canons looked nicer overall, but less detail. The d810 has a lot of chroma noise, but that could simply be the lack of chroma NR in their JPEG engine. The d810 ISO100 file had lots more detail in it, but that was negated somewhat by using the new "fine detail" option.

With regards to the 5d4 and 5d3 dynamic range, when pushed, the 5d4 files DID hold up better than the 5d3. The ISO6400 shots pushed looked better on the 5d4 too.

I'd say until we can see the raws it'll be hard to say.

Interesting to see though!

^^ Looking at it, it's got significantly cleaver shadows at ISO6400 than the 5d3, and similar to the 1dx2. Not as good as the d5 though, which is definitely the high ISO king .. although not the low ISO king! I'd also say it looks equivalent to the d750 at ISO6400 too .. although the d750 looks sharper.

Most of the cameras looks similar in the midtones at that ISO though.

Just recently Tony N. was saying that the 5DS/R was the 5D3 replacement and there would be no 5D4. Watching his 5D4 preview video shows he is still confused about the 5D lineup. However, the video did do a good job of highlighting the things that make sense and the things that don't make sense with this new camera.

Didn't know that Tony and the Mrs switched to doing good videos these days... You mean "good" as in that they really gotten to know their stuff now?

He basically took each camera, made sure they were all on the same settings, and then took pictures with them, then compared each camera. I could have done that and not screwed it up The only difference being he has the money (and probably some kind of endorsement or something) to get all of these cameras where as right now I can only afford my 50D and 1D Mk2.

Here are a few images. The first one is JPEG from camera with some crop. The second is 100% crop. Check out the parasites on this guy...Impressive for ISO 1600 hand held.

Third image was raw file processed in DPP a bit over exposed.

Last two are JPEG resize and crop only

Not the best photo I've ever taken, but definitely one of the funnier ones.

Same here - Northrup's pretty painful to be honest. It's like being forced to listen to a Photo 101 tutor when you should be in 404.

Nice to see some photos from the 5D4. I have nothing of great artistic value, but I'm working on it. Soon...

The most annoying thing for me personally is when you watch a utube review and it goes over the specs. Like you want to hear them for the 100th time.

Take look at the Adobe RAW beta conversions. Like the 1DxII Adobe conversions, they're complete rubbish. The rubber Zodiak is typical of water and reflected sky with Adobe.

Yes, but it's at least usable, unlike the DPP pile of manure.
