I have framed 20x30's on my walls from my very, very old Canon 1D, which was just 4megs, and the prints still look quite nice

X-T2 55-200 on a Lake Michigan Sunset in August. Usually these are saved for October and November but we were blessed with this one this week. Kind of sucks realizing summer isn't over yet.

I typically shoot landscape with a full frame Canon 5DsR system, working from the tripod with a set of L lenses. I've been known to carry this gear — many pounds of it! — into the Sierra Nevada backcountry to make photographs.

I also have a Fujifilm XPro2 system (and before that the original XE1) with a set of (mostly) prime lenses that I rely on for my travel and street photography. A few months ago I considered using that camera as the basis of a lighter trail photography system, and I acquired the Fujifilm 16-55mm f/2.8 and 50-140mm f/2.8 lenses.

A week ago I joined friends on a short Eastern Sierra pack trip. I decided to go very light. I took the XPro2, only the 16-55, a small travel tripod (not the monster I usually use) and a remote release. Here is one of the photographs from that trip.

Love the human element in that one. I know some people like landscapes devoid of people, but I think it gives it a great since of scale.

Nice Dan!
Your work has led me to Fuji for travel. I'm thinking hard about pulling the trigger.

I just got back from my first visit to Iceland and first time using my xpro2 for landscapes. I brought my Canon setup along since I don't have a telephoto yet for my Fuji and just in case I wanted my tilt shift lenses but I used the Fuji for 90% of my shooting. I'm heading to the Lofoten Islands next month for a backpacking trip so I feel pretty confident leaving the Canon at home now. I'm a little backlogged with wedding work but I figured I'd process at least one to share

Taken with 14mm

Gorgeous shots. I really like mild tonality and vivid colors. Very natural looking. The 2nd shot taken with 14mm was cropped quite heavily, wasn't it?
What fuji set-up did you take for that trip?

Thanks Alex,

The second photo actually wasn't much of a crop, I only chopped off the sky since it added nothing to the photo but I was pretty much right on the edge of a gnarly drop For the trip I brought my xpro2 with the 14mm and samyang 12mm. I also had my 35 f2. I'd like to eventually get something to replace my canon 70-200 since I like to do a lot of telephoto abstracts.
