I previously owned the x-t1 and moved to the Sony a7r2 to getter better resolution for landscapes. I love the ergonomics of the x series and with the x-t2 now at 24mp, would you consider this to be enough resolution to print as large as 24x36?

Thanks for any insight

Geoff

Lovely shots. I really think the 10-24 is my next lens. I love my 16mm, but there's no substituting and UWA lens to get these nice scenic shots (or interiors, etc).

Agreed 100%, totally different prospective. We just got back from a trip through Western Canada including Banff, and what I've got with Nikon 17-35mm F2.8 on D800 is not replaceable with 16mm or longer FL.
I think, I started to understand power of WA.

Thank you, CPUTEQ,. I too have and like the 16mm, and strongly prefer a prime to a zoom. However, when it comes to LS work, the 10-35 is a must, though I will usually include a prime or primes in the bag.

Yes, with caveats.

Enough resolution is largely subjective, with a few objective factors. The answer is yes because you absolutely can get prints at that size of landscapes with that sensor that are good enough (for some or even most people). Compared to an A7rII or 5DsR or D810, however-- there are objective disadvantages in printing at that size, particularly of such subjects. The question that is highly subjective is this: Are those differences worth the price, size, etc? That either depends entirely on you, or on a combination of you and your viewers (and viewing scenarios: distances, print types, even landscape types).

Side note: I've printed quite large from 8/12mp sensors. It was good enough, and still is, in some ways. And take a look at those Shot on an iPhone images-- printed large, and in places you can (but maybe don't) put your nose right up to it. They're good enough too. But there's a very real objective improvement going to 24mp and then again to 42mp. So at the end of the day I think it's clear: Good enough is subjective.

Here's a few with the X-T1 with XF14mm

This one has a person and dog, but the landscape is what captivates me here.

Which image has better IQ? DP2 or the XE1 with 16-55?

DP2 with the Foveon sensor has really incredible detail, particularly in this type of shot. I was surprised how well the XE1 did however Can't wait to see what the new Foveon Quattro SD's look like, particularly the APS-H version.
