Open up a 2 inch outlet on a fire hydrant and let 'er rip!!! Guaranteed to wash away even the most stubborn dust.

When I first started cleaning my own sensor I bought the swab that was the exact size of my sensor. After all they said it was made for my camera. I was having the same problem that you describe. Just cannot get the corners. I bought a swab that was slightly smaller than my sensor. I had to make 2 passes but it was no problem getting the corners clean. The first swab just could be maneuvered around much.

I find the same, you need one a bit smaller, preferably with a blade which is wide at the end, but tapered towards the handle.

On rare occasions I will see some debris in one of the corners but I have never verified whether or not this extreme edge area is actually going to be present in a saved image at its outer edges. The next time I do encounter dust in a corner I plan on doing some test images of the open sky at f/16 and determine if the dust shows up in the images.

Another vote for the Eyelead Sensor Gel Stick available through:

Make sure you get this brand rather than trying to save a few bucks with an "off brand" on Ebay. You paid enough for your equipment so protect it with the right tools for cleaning.

The wet cleaning never worked to my satisfaction. Now I just use a bulb blower with the mirror down, then mirror up, then use the Get Stick. Excellent product, it is also used in the Leica factory.

Where are you folks getting the sensor magnifying loupe from? What kind or brand do you recommend?

For checking, I use the "Opteka" sensor magnifier. If I see dust, I usually start with an air blower.

I use "Giottos Rocket Air Blaster". That seems to be enough most of the time. Make sure the sensor is facing down when blowing air inside.
However, for the very stubborn dust particle, I use "LensPen" gently on the sensor, it removes stubborn dust immediately.

Another sensor destroyed by a gel stick (genuine Eyelead)...this time a 1DX II sensor ($1700 repair bill):

Just another reminder to be very cautious with these products if you want to use them.
