What a beauty! Great shot of a stunning bird.
We usually see one for a day or two during spring migration but have never been able to get a picture.

Thanx Socrate. You are, of course right. I thought I had taken this one as far as I could, but with your comment, I revisited the shot and tried a few different things. How does it look now?

Thanx Paul. I haven't been able to detect a sign that it's about to fly, so an IF shot will be difficult.

Congratulations on capturing your elusive subject! It's always satisfying when persistence pays off. I agree they are a pain to expose. I do like the second version better.
