p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Dallas Fort Worth area for wildlife?

I'm on a business trip to Dallas/Fort Worth. I'll have 6 hours tomorrow before I need to get back to the airport. Looking for a wildlife management area or the like to get a sense of the land and habitat before it was made into highways and gas stations. Looking particularly for some interesting pockets where I might see some interesting wildlife I wouldn't get the chance to see in New England. Thanks for any suggestions.

PS: Shouldn't be more than an hour or two from DFW.

You might look into Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. it's NW of Forth Worth. Haggerman WR is another option it's about 2hrs. North of Dallas. Trinity River Audubon Center is the closest to Dallas if your short on time.
I'd make Forth Worth Nature Center my first pick followed by Haggerman then Trinity River.

Travel safe and enjoy your trip!!!
