A long exposure image from last week out on "The Rocks" at the mouth of the Cape Fear River in North Carolina. I nearly got stranded out here as the tide was coming in and I wasn't paying attention...mental error that is not like me...I managed to get back obviously, with only lacerations on the feet from scrambling and sliding barefoot on the sharp, slick mossy rocks. Thanks for looking...any comments or crits are more than appreciated.

Rising tide allows for some cool long exposure shots. Tried it few times in Norway in the past. Nice line of rocks in this one guiding the eye to far horizon. My eye ended up in the far right edge in which there is nothing there except a looming rainstorm?

Mysterious and ominous-looking ... a primordial world, but where fire would go missing ...

Good to read that you made it back safely.

Well done. I like the leading line, and you really used the negative space well in this.

The rising tide did make it so that I had water spilling over the jetty, so I have to agree. Yes, that was a haavy rainstorm on the right side, I felt like the dark edge was small enough that the eye could be held in...

Thanks Ryan. Intact...minus some skin and a little blood, but all in all...well worth it.

Thanks Dale, I love negative space, I really like working with it, especially some big sections of it like this.

You took the risk, but the image looks very nice! I would consider toning down just a bit the highlights on the sky.

Thank you Henry. About the highlights, none of them are clipped, and the high contrast between the light area and the dark area was quite intentional. It was to emphasize the transition from light to dark being so strong, more subdued would have less impact IMO.
