p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Street camera step up

So I have a Sony RX100iii. It is disarming due to its size and generally works quite well for street work.
I like zooms - the versatility on the street, well I'm not sure I want to give that up, and in any case this little camera is f1.8 at the wide end.
The sensor on this camera renders very well at base ISO, but here's the thing:
I do a lot of low light work at high ISOs, and as soon as you push this sensor a couple of stops it leads to a certain grunginess that isn't all that much smoother than a mobile phone.
I would like to move to a bigger sensor, but then I would lose the f1.8 speed on this little camera, and wouldn't I effectively be back where I started anyway if I pushed a larger sensor further to match the shutter speed on a slower lens?

Is there something out there I haven't thought of?
