p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · New to ITTL flash SB 700..manul mode and flash sync...

I have never owned a ITTL Nikon flash since I have been using the Yongnuo 560 III. The Yongnuo died two days ago after shooting an evening bike race. I had it for 2 years and have over 10k exposures on it. The flash tube got burned out. Now, I just borrowed my sister SB700 and trying to use the manual flash power mode. To my surprise, I get no shutter clipping even at 1/500s. The SB 700 wasn't using the high speed sync mode.

Can anyone explain to me what I am seeing? Can the SB 700 do a full power flash sync beyond 1/320s under the manual mode power setting? Or I am seeing something else? I am really confused here....

Hahahah...never mind...yeah, it was in Auto FP mode even under manual power setting. The power/distance calculator shows that the distance is cut by 50% as soon as the shutter speed is beyond 1/320s...
