p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Help photographing inside of a lens

Hello,

Not sure where to put this but if anyone can help I would be most grateful!

Was wondering if anyone has a technique or ideas for showing that the inside of a lens for sale has normal dust from age but that it has no fungus?! I thought that by taking a head lamp and shining it from the back of the lens just at the right angle it would illuminate the dust but instead it makes people who are inexperienced with fungus think its fungus. In reality when you look through this lens its pretty clean.

Thanks in advance.

Just a quick thought. I wonder if any of the B/W filters would highlight the fungus and not the dust. I don't have a lens with fungus to test so this is just theory. Because some of the B/W filters are specific colors they highlight or subdue certain wavelengths of light. It's a long shot and probably wouldn't increase the buyer's confidence in the lens since it's not an established method.

Could be fun to play around with if you have a "diseased" lens to try! (lol)
