p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Confusions concerning photo viewing

Hello all,

Sorry for the rookie question here:

I am using a Windows 10 desktop, recently coming from an XP laptop. I am unfamiliar with the default photo viewers Windows 10 has to offer. Anyhow, I am editing photos in CS6 and saving as jpg. When I open one of my edited jpg files in either Windows Photo Viewer OR Photos, they look terrible. They seem dull and not very sharp. But when I open that same file in CS6, it is sharp, the colors vibrant, etc. What gives? I am using a Dell UP2414q 3840x2160 monitor, FWIW.

Thanks!

When you save your image in CS6, save it using the sRGB color space and see if you get better results. If this works, I will explain what is going on.
