So I just picked up the unicorn. A 200 mm 1.8 lens.
So the lens is very clean, no marks, no dust, no fungus, smooth focus.
But... missing a lens hood.

So I can't find any replacements out there. I've been searching for
one to buy and at the very least borrow so I can send it off to have a
3d copy made of it. I think that would be kinda cool. Anyways any
ideas. I don't want to monkey around with cardboard or PVC pipe.
I'm a wedding photographer and want to have real Canon accessories.

There's another lens that uses a similar hood. I think 500 4.5 or something. You modify the hood for it and it becomes a hood for the 200.

Et 123 and et 123b.

Not much help but gives you more items to look for

The 123 lens hood has a flair in it to allow the FOV of a 200mm. The 123B for the 500mm is strait. I would think the 123B would vignette on the 200mm.
My advice is just to keep looking and not just the web but call some popular repair shops that work on that type of lens.
good luck!

Probably wouldn't be cheap but in this day of 3D printing I would have thought there must be a printable file out there somewhere for stuff like this .

Of course an item that size would need an large printer but I'm sure you could get it done

I talked to a sales rep of a 3D printer. He showed me a photo of a pineapple they scanned and printed... F'ing amazing! It printed in color too! I had my 400 2.8 with me, popped the hood off and asked, "could you print one of these? Big market for them...." He said it would be easy... but declined to say what it would cost... The future is out there!

That hood is pretty big as I recall, ok for outdoors, not so much indoors.

Anyway, here is an old thread that gives some options:

And there is an ET-123 for sale for $600+

It is not that hard to make a hood out of carbon fiber. I made one for a 400/2.8L vII that came out OK. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1413140

fabric: https://surl.im/cT7R
resin: https://surl.im/DPKS
black felt: https://surl.im/4zHD
camo: https://surl.im/lZme

I used cardboard as a form. Soak the CF in the resin and wrap around the cardboard. Repeat two or three days until you are happy with the thickness. Sand round and touch up with scratch filler to get a tight press fit to the lens. Put felt on the inside and camo on outside is the easiest.

Midstate Camera is often mentioned for working on the 200 1.8. You might check with them; maybe they have picked up old lenses to use as parts and ended up with an extra hood.

My copy came with a hood, so if I can help with dimensions, just let me know.
